UN chief Ban Ki-Moon visits Bird´s Nest

The UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, has visited Beijing's National Stadium. Better known as the Bird's Nest, the stadium is the venue for the opening ceremony of the upcoming Olympic Games.

The UN Chief says he hopes the event will become a platform to enhance harmony and friendship of people around the world.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said, "I hope this Olympics will be the venue where all athletes and people of the world will promote their mutual understanding, the harmony, reconciliation and friendship on the basis of fair competition. Let us work together so that the whole international community will be the gold medalist."
