Li Changchun says political trust has expanded, there is more cooperation on trade, science, culture and public health, and China and Syria maintain dialogue in international and regional affairs. He says this benefits the two countries and helps safeguard the interests of developing nations and world peace and stability.
Syria's ruling party leaders expressed a willingness to further develop party-to-party relations with the CPC. They say Syria supports China on the issue of Tibet and oppose any interference in China's internal affairs.
In his meeting with the Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Otri, Li Changchun says relations are good and trade links are expanding, with China now the largest trading partner of Syria.
